WEST PARIS, ME - Warren Gordon Hammond, 67, of West Paris, died Thursday morning, January 20, at Market Square Health Center in South Paris. He was born in Mineola, NY on October 11, 1937, the son of Homer H. and Janet G. Hammond. He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1959 and served eight years in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam Conflict. After serving his country, he worked as a naval engineer, first for SUP-SHIP Boston and then at Bath Iron Works. After retiring in 2000, he enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with his granddaughter Sydney and granddog Homer.

Mr. Hammond is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathleen White Hammond; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle H. and Theodore D. Barber of West Paris; a son, Phillip S. Hammond of Santa Fe, NM; a granddaughter, Sydney Morgan House of West Paris; his mother, Janet G. Hammond of Eagle Lake and six siblings, Elizabeth Warshaw of Brookline, MA, Carolyn Hammond of Brunswick, Mary Davis of Madbury, NH, Andrea Norris of Wallagrass, Michael Hammond of Portland and Anthony Hammond of Windsor, VT. He was predeceased by his father, Homer H. Hammond. Per Mr. Hammond's request there will not be any services at this time. Condolences may be expressed at .
