Mark H. “Briggs” Brigham, age 51, of Ripley, N.Y.

Formerly of Erie, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2008 at his residence.

He was born in Erie on January 28, 1957, son of the late Frank and Joan Patterson Brigham. Mark was a graduate of Edinboro State University earning a B.S. in Nuclear Medicine. He was a Nuclear Med Technician at Albany Medical Center in Albany, N.Y.; then worked for the VAMC in Erie as a Service Rep before transferring to the VAMC in Cleveland from where he retired. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mark was a member local DAV organizations. Mark was a devout Catholic having attended several local parishes.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast.

He is survived by one daughter, Nichole Slynn (Chad) of Everett, Wash.; two grandchildren, Lucas and Emma; two sisters, Peggy Williams (Don) and Sally Benson and her companion Howard all of Harborcreek; one brother, Matthew “Skip” Brigham of Wesleyville; his “special” children Ellie Jo, Angela, Samuel, and Sergio; nieces and nephews, Jaime, Brian,Michael, Wendy, Julie, Brandie, Ben, Andrew, Joey, Jamie, Doug, Amanda, Tim, Nick, Joseph, Kevin and Kelly; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Blackhurst and Pamela Nowakowski.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Out Lady of Mercy R.C. Church. Interment, Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery with full military honors conducted by American Legion Carl Neff Post #571. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, c/o Norman J.
